假髻 供妇女装饰或代真发的发髻。《北堂书钞》一三五引《晋中兴书》：“太元中，公主妇人缓鬓假髻，以为盛饰。用发多，不可恒戴，乃先于笼上装之，名曰假髻，或名假头。”又见《晋书五行志》上。至唐，称“义髻”。唐妇女所作发髻，有的同前一样，用髲髢加添而梳成，有用铁丝织成而外编以发加于髻上。杨贵妃常以义髻为首饰。亦有用薄木制成髻式：“上加缀珠宝或画彩制成。新疆吐鲁番阿斯塔那曾出土有木A。罩在发髻上，可用铜钗固定，其底部有洞。A1亦作髻。木A2即假髻。
