专门用于计量输送液体的泵。绝大多数计量泵都采用柱塞泵和隔膜泵的结构（见往复泵），也有用齿轮泵的结构的，因为它们可以保持与排出压力无关的恒定流量。计量泵有流量可调节和不可调节的两种，前者的适用性更广。流量主要通过改变行程长度调节，例如改变曲柄半径、柱塞回程时后止点位置和柱塞杆与十字头连接处的间隙，也可通过改变往复次数或同时采用两种方法来调节流量。虽然行程长度可以从零调至最大，但为保证计量精度,一般都限制在30～100％范围内。计量泵的计量精度是指流量复现性的精度，通常按最大流量计算。在10～100％调节范围内,一般计量泵的计量精度为±1％（特殊的计量泵精度更高）。影响计量精度的主要因素是柱塞填料的密封性和吸入、排出阀工作的完善性。柱塞式计量泵具有计量精度高、调节范围宽和压力高等优点,只是填料密封处有泄漏,在填料被腐蚀和磨损后会影响泵的计量精度。这种计量泵的流量一般为 4～4000升／时，压力一般在5×105帕以下。隔膜式计量泵的主要优点是没有泄漏，因此特别适合于不容许泄漏的场合，例如输送易燃、易爆、有毒和放射性介质，还可用于输送含有固体颗粒的液体，所以它的发展很快。这种计量泵流量一般在2500升／时以下，压力可至35兆帕。使用计量泵可以完成输送、计量和调节3种功能,从而简化生产工艺流程，实现自动化和半自动化，并提高产品质量。使用多缸或多台计量泵，还可以将几种介质按准确比例输入反应器进行混合。计量泵在化学、炼油、制药、食品和核能等工业中的应用日益增多。计量泵的效率较低，一般为20％，功率也很小。
