【来源】
为千屈菜科植物紫薇的叶，植物形态详"紫薇花"条。
【化学成分】
叶含生物碱：德新宁碱、德洒明碱、印车前胡碱、紫薇碱、双氢蔚剔雌拉亭、德考定碱。以上各种生物碱集中含在豆夹中。
【药理作用】
德洒明碱有抗真菌作用，体外杀白色含念珠菌之浓度为8微克/毫升，对白喉杆菌也有作用(有效浓度为4微克/毫升)；如白喉患者同时有真菌感染，德洒明碱与其他抗菌素(如红霉素)合用，则抗菌作用可显著增强。叶、茎有某些抗菌作用，但未经证实。据报道，种子含某种麻醉成分。有人称树皮有兴奋、退热作用。
【功用主治】
治痢疾，湿疹，创伤出血。
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，1～3钱。外用：煎水洗、捣敷或研末撒。
【选方】
①治白痢：紫薇叶水煎服。(湖南药物志》) ②治湿疹：紫薇叶捣烂敷或煎水洗。(湖南药物志》) ③治创伤出血：紫薇叶一两，野南瓜根一两，六月冻一两，胎发灰一钱半，研细末，外用。(江西《中草药学》)
