DVD光驱指读取DVD光盘的设备。DVD盘片的容量为4.7GB,相当于CD－ROM光盘的七倍,可以存储133分钟电影,包含七个杜比数字化环绕音轨。DVD盘片可分为：DVD－ROM、DVD－R(可一次写入)、DVD－RAM(可多次写入)和DVD－RW(读和重写)。目前的DVD光驱多采用EIDE接口,能像CD－ROM光驱一样连接到IDE1或IDE2口上。
