葡糖醛酸 glucuronic acid

为有代表性的糖醛酸,为葡萄糖6位上的醇基被羧基置换。d-葡糖醛酸除在尿中以酚类、类固醇的配糖体(d-葡糖醛酸苷)的形态出现外,在动物中以粘多糖的组成糖的形态出现,在植物中则以阿拉伯树胶、半纤维素和皂苷等的组成糖的形态出现。另也常以细菌分泌的荚膜多糖出现。在细胞内。经nad+的特异的脱氢酶的作用,由udp-葡萄糖生成udp葡糖醛酸,成为配糖体和多糖的葡糖醛酸残基的供体。另一方面,与葡糖醛酸有关的对葡糖醛酸苷键水解的酶(β-葡糖醛酸苷酶glucuronidase)也有广泛的分布。在细菌中,尚有从6-磷酸葡糖经过肌醇形成游离的葡糖醛酸的途径。多数植物和动物,存在着将游离的d-葡糖醛酸还原成l-古洛糖酸(l-gulonicacid)的酶,这是维生素c的合成途径。
