We examined the relationship between the jet stream and activity of synoptic-scale disturbance Q,which depicts intensity of synoptic-scale disturbance in a period of time,and the relationship between the jet stream and transient eddy heat flux.

Based on the temperature and salinity data observed by Japanese Meteorological Agency along the PN section during 1956 to 2003 and the 850 hPa wind data from NCEP during 1955 to 2003,the variation characteristics of the Kuoshio heat transport in the East China Sea were analyzed,and the relationship between the Kuroshio heat transport in winter and summer and the wind anomaly was also discussed.
