| 世界卫生组织 World Health Organization 国际性的卫生专门机构。不隶属于联合国，是一特殊的独立机构。英文简称WHO。宗旨是使所有民族的健康都达到尽可能高的水平。1948年4月7日为世界卫生组织日，世界卫生组织章程正式生效。总部设在日内瓦，下设世界卫生大会、执行委员会、秘书处3个主要机构。采取权力分散的工作方式，设有6个地区办事处，负责所属会员国的工作。 该组织的任务是：①促进消灭流行病、地方病和其他疾病。②促进改善营养、住房、卫生设施、工作条件及环境卫生等。③鼓励对卫生事业做出贡献的科学家和专业团体间的合作。④提出卫生方面的国际公约和协议。⑤推进和指导卫生领域中的研究。⑥制定食品、生物制品和药品的国际标准。⑦鼓励从事卫生事业的人们踊跃提出意见。 出版的期刊有《世界卫生论坛》、《世界卫生》、《世界卫生组织公报》、《国际卫生立法文摘》、《世界卫生组织药物信息》等，还出版医学专业和科普的书籍。 |
