脊索 notochord 脊索动物原始的中轴骨骼。 位于消化管的背面,神经管的腹面,有弹性,不分节,伸延全身,成为支持身体的一条棒状支柱。脊索和背神经管、鳃裂一起,构成脊索动物门的3大特征,而区别于无脊椎动物。一切脊索动物在早期发育阶段都具有脊索,但是,只有少数低等脊索动物如文昌鱼才终生保留,多数脊椎动物(脊椎动物是脊索动物门中的一个亚门)则只在胚胎时期有脊索,以后就被新的支持结构脊柱所代替,脊索本身仅留残余或完全退化。 脊索的结构在各类脊索动物里不尽相同,也不总是由泡细胞组成。脊索是脊柱的前驱,脊柱是脊索的承替。在不同鱼类中,可看到脊柱逐渐代替脊索的过程。 |
