起重机械中最常见的一种吊具。吊钩常借助于滑轮组(见起重滑车)等部件悬挂在起升机构的钢丝绳上（见图）。吊钩按形状分为单钩和双钩；按制造方法分为锻造吊钩和叠片式吊钩。单钩制造简单、使用方便，但受力情况不好，大多用在起重量为80吨以下的工作场合；起重量大时常采用受力对称的双钩。叠片式吊钩由数片切割成形的钢板铆接而成，个别板材出现裂纹时整个吊钩不会破坏，安全性较好，但自重较大，大多用在大起重量或吊运钢水盛桶的起重机上。吊钩在作业过程中常受冲击，须采用韧性好的优质碳素钢制造。
