传统名吃。远香斋魏氏熏鸡由聊城魏兆松始创于清嘉庆十五年(1810)，驰名于道光二十年(1840)前后。因当年运河水陆交通便利，得以畅销省内外。制作时，选用外形丰满、肉多肥嫩、体重1至1.5公斤的当年生无病活鸡，先加工成扒鸡，再向腹内装入丁香、八角、桂皮、茴香等药料，放在锯末(木屑)烟头上熏制。经熏制的扒鸡色泽栗红，水分少，皮缩裂，肉外露，无弹性，药香浓，肉嫩骨酥，原汁原味，肉质梗韧，香而不腻，嚼后有余香，四季皆宜食。吃时泡洗蒸透，顺丝撕食。可存1年左右不变质。堪称上等美肴和馈赠佳品。
