中国烟草科技和管理人员的学术性群众团体。中国科学技术协会的成员。1985年5月成立,会址设在北京。第一任理事长李益三。学会下设工业、农业、经济 3个专业委员会，并分别设立若干学科小组，开展各项学术活动。多数省、市、自治区设有省级烟草学会。中国烟草学会的宗旨是联合从事烟草生产、加工、经营和科研设计方面的科技、经济工作者，结合实际探讨当前和未来科技、经济的重大问题，促进多种学科的互相联系和协作。学会成立后开展了大量工作，如联合烟草科技工作者和医药界专家，共同研究开发在卷烟中加入中草药成分，以减少烟草中有害物质，从而对某些疾病起一定的缓解作用。为了解国际烟草发展动向,吸取新技术,加强信息交流，学会还积极参加了国际烟草学术团体的活动。
