      在γ射线波段发出脉冲辐射的脉冲星。近年以来,观测γ 射线的小型天文卫星-B(SAS-B)和宇宙线观测卫星-B(COS-B)发现了一些γ 射线源。其中有几个γ 射线源已证认为脉冲星。目前已知发射γ射线的脉冲星是:船帆座脉冲星(PSR0833-45)、蟹状星云脉冲星(PSR0531+21)、PSR1747-06、PSR1818-04、PSR1742-30和PSR1822-09。其中,船帆座脉冲星和蟹状星云脉冲星的γ 射线辐射功率约为射电辐射功率的100万倍,是两个最强的γ 射线脉冲星。就已知的几个γ射线脉冲星而言,γ射线脉冲周期和射电脉冲周期相同,γ射线脉冲到达时间与射电脉冲到达时间有些差异(有超前的,也有滞后的),γ射线脉冲轮廓和射电脉冲轮廓相比也不尽相同。
