古文理论著作。一名《古文绪论》， 1卷，共60则。清代吴德旋著，吕璜记述。吴德旋(1767～1840)字仲伦。宜兴（今属江苏）人，著有《初月楼文钞》10卷，《续钞》8卷,《诗钞》4卷等。吕璜(1778～1838)字礼北,号月沧。永福（今属广西）人，著有《月沧小集》等。吴德旋初与张惠言同学古文,后师事姚鼐,论文亦宗之，颇以柔澹古雅为美，力排恽敬雄奇纵横之说。此书着重讲古文写作的某些规律，亦评及历代作家、作品。所论重法度，也谈风神、气、韵，而于古文之体裁、风格辨析甚严，以为小说、语录、诗话、时文、尺牍，"五者不去,非古文也"。但书中之论尚非吴氏古文理论全貌,须与文集中论文之作互相参照。此书有海宁蒋氏《别下斋丛书》本，常州盛氏《常州先哲遗书后编》本，二者皆与《初月楼论书随笔》同刊。1959年人民文学出版社校点本，则与刘大櫆《论文偶记》、林纾《春觉斋论文》，合为一书。
