| 纳尔逊（1758～1805） Nelson，Horatio 英国海军名将。生于英国诺福克郡一教区教长家庭。1771年参加海军，在其舅父任舰长的舰上当见习生。后被派到活动于西印度群岛、极地海区和印度洋的舰船上服役。1776年晋升为少尉。1778年任巡航舰舰长。1793年任战列舰舰长。1797年晋升为少将，在圣文森特海战后授勋爵。1798年任地中海分舰队司令，在阿布吉尔湾海战后授男爵。1801年晋升为中将，任波罗的海舰队副司令，在哥本哈根海战后升任舰队司令，授子爵。1803年任地中海舰队司令。1805年10月21日在特拉法尔加海战中负重伤而死。纳尔逊曾在西印度群岛、北美、地中海参加过护航、封锁、登陆和保卫基地等海战。他作战勇敢，多次负伤，右眼失明和右臂截肢后仍坚持指挥作战。
