uranium series method

   利用天然放射性系列(主要是铀系)中某些中间子体的放射性衰减或积累进行地质计时的方法。又称铀系不平衡法。铀的衰减系列包含多种元素的放射性同位素。它们在地质过程中铀的衰变链被断开,使母体与子体的平衡状态被破坏,子体之间被分开,出现子体同位素的过剩或不足。铀系法正是以母体与其子体处于不平衡和子体的过剩或不足为前提,来测定年轻地质样品的年龄。铀系法包括过剩子体衰减法和不足子体累积法两大类。过剩子体衰减法包括:不平衡铀法(234U-238U),测定碳酸盐和水体的 地质年龄 ;-钍法(230Th-232Th)或-镤法(230Th-231Pa),测定海泥和锰结核的沉积速率;铅-210法,测定冰川、积雪、湖泊、港湾等沉积物年龄;不平衡钍法(228Th-232Th)和钍-234法,适用于浅水沉积物年龄的测定  。不足子体累积法包括  :-铀法(230Th-234U)、镤-铀法(231Pa-235U)、-镤法(230Th- 231Pa)和镭-铀法(226Ra-238U)。它们均可测定海相和陆相碳酸盐、磷块岩、洞穴堆积、骨化石、牙齿等的地质年龄。而且对考古学方面的鉴定也具有重要意义。铀系法测定的时间范围可由几年到100万年。
