| 全球环境监测系统 Global Environment Monitoring System 联合国环境规划署下属的全球和地区环境监测的协调中心。简称GEMS。根据1972年在斯德哥尔摩召开的联合国人类环境会议的建议于1975年正式成立。地址在肯尼亚首都内罗毕。它系统地收集、分析和评价各种环境状况变化因素的数据和环境在时间和空间上的变化情况，但不直接承担具体的监测工作，而是负责协调国际上有关的监测活动，特别是联合国系统各组织的有关活动。监测系统支持的活动主要有5个方面：气候的观测，污染物远程迁移的监测，人体健康的检验，陆地可更新资源的监测，海洋污染状况的监测。列举的国际监测项目包括4大类：生态监测，污染物监测，自然灾害监测，环境监测研究。中国从1978年起先后参加了大气污染监测、水质监测、食品污染监测、人体接触环境污染物评价点监测等活动。 |
