描述AlyxiaBanksexR.Br.念珠藤属，夹竹桃科，约112种，分布于亚洲南部及太平洋群岛，我国有18种，分布于东南至西南部，其中最常见的为念珠藤A.sinensisChamp.exBenth.，民间用于治风火牙痛、风湿、跌打等症。藤本；叶对生或轮生；萼内无腺体；花冠高脚蝶状，裂片5，向左覆盖，喉部无鳞片；花药内藏，无花盘；心皮2，离生，但为花柱所连结；果为具1种子的核果或浆果，有时2个以上连接而种子间收缩成念珠状。
