Based on a review of the status quo of and problems confronting Chinese chiroptera taxonomy,this paper analyzed the application of phallic morphology,especially baculum,on mammal taxonomy,introduced study methods for phallic morphology and advanced proposals for improving the taxonomy of Chinese chiroptera at species level by using phallic morphology as indexes.
