| 虹桥 以穿插梁木成为木拱的桥。位于中国河南开封市东门外，跨汴水。建于宁庆历年间。构造奇特，其承重结构由两套多铰木拱各若干片相间排列组成，其中一套木拱拱骨为长木3根，做梯形布置，另一套木拱拱骨为长木2根、短木2根，做尖拱关布置。各以端头抵紧，形成铰。一套拱骨的铰，恰好在另一套拱骨长木的中点之上；用篾索将两套木拱夹着的横木扎紧，就构成稳定的拱结构。北宋名画家张择端所作《清明上河图》的虹桥，即本于此。根据画面，估计此桥的实际跨度约法三章18.5米，桥上马车荷载约束吨。木拱桥技术创于900多年前，是中国木结构桥梁独具匠心之作。
