替代商品
替代商品指在效用上可以相互代替，满足同一种欲望的商品。例如牛肉和羊肉、圆珠笔和钢笔、煤和石油等都属于替代商品。两种商品如果有替代关系，当其中一种商品价格不变时，则另一种商品价格提高，就会引起对前一种商品需求量的增加;反之，另一种商品价格下跌，就会引起对前一种商品需求量的减少。例如:当羊肉价格不变时，作为羊肉的替代商品牛肉的价格上升，人们就会多吃羊肉而少吃牛肉，故对羊肉的需求增加;如果在羊肉价格不变时牛肉价格下降，人们就会少吃羊肉而多购买牛肉，对羊肉的需求就会减少。由于一种商品的价格与其替代品的需求量作相同方向的变动，其交叉弹性为正数。替代商品属于相关商品的一种(另一种为互补商品)，常用于对市场上某种商品需求量变动原因的分析。
