美国联邦政府廉政办公室美国在独立战争胜利之后，吸取其他资本主义国家的厉史经验和教训，逐步建立起比较完善的、健全的资本主义民主政体制度，其中包括一整套保证各级官员为政清廉的监督机制1978年，根据美国国会颁布的《政府道德法》设立了联邦政府廉政办公室，负责协调和监督联邦政府系统内官员的纪律检查，并处理司法部管辖范围以外的官员违纪问题。廉政办公室原为美国政府人事管理局的一部分、后升格为联邦独立机构，以提高其权威。在征得参议院同意后，廉政办公室主任由美国总统直接任命，对于重大问题，廉政办公室主任可向总统直接报告。廉政办公室的职责为:①监督联邦政府机构，遵守丫政府道德法》。②会同司法部和人事管理局起草贯彻《政府道德法》的总统行政命令，经总统批准签署后执行。③监督各政府部门官员遵纪情况，发现问题及时提出警告，并对政府雇员进行职业道德教育。廉政办公室为联邦政府纪检监督机关，同时对总统和国会负责，每两年向国会提交一份工作报告。廉政办公室还根据美国历届总统颁发的一些对政府官员进行纪律管理的行政命令，结合廉政法有关内容编成小册子，散发给政府雇员，并将其基本精神归纳为“六不”原则:第一，不以权谋私。第二，不对违纪行为偏袒包庇。第三，不妨碍政府效率和经济运转。第四，不丧失独立和公正的判断能力。第五，不在官方渠道之外决定政府事宜。第六，不破坏公众对政府廉洁的信任。
