三元河乡村旅游资源主要是以河边寨、鱼洞村等布依村寨为主，河边寨又主要以其建筑特色为主，民俗活动相对较少（渔洞的情况也基本相同），汉化程度比较突出。村寨环境姣好，河边寨和渔洞有大片的风水林，渔洞更是隐蔽在古树浓荫之下，寨内的参天古树、建筑古朴、鸟语蝉鸣、幽雅宁静、神韵盎然，更有三元河蜿蜒逶迤，穿行在山林村寨之间，充满野趣，是极为难得的城市近郊返璞归真的休闲度假、乡村旅游和文化旅游绝妙景区。
以河边寨等布依村寨群落为特色，其中三元河边寨、鱼洞村最为突出，保存有古建筑（石塔、石桥、营盘）、溪流风光（富洪村）、以及布依民间画、文革标语遗迹、布依花灯等人文景观。历史遗迹、人文景观、民族文化、自然风光、乡村景色等共同构成三元河乡村旅游。
