This paper argues that the value and significance of semantic prosody research for vocabulary teaching and learning from three angles: the development of definitions of semantic prosody,the instance researches made by some foreign corpus linguists and the contrast researches between Chinese English Learner Corpus and Native English Corpus by Chinese researchers.
