在马王堆帛书《五十二病方》"祛疣"的医方中,涉及到一些流传至今的禁忌风俗与巫术,如对晦朔日、水井的禁忌等,巫医正是利用这些禁忌心理,用扫帚、祝由、禹步、土块、葵茎等巫法来"治疗"疣的。

天帝释以大宝镜，正月照南赡部洲，而察人之善恶也。又北方毗沙门天王，巡察四洲；正月在南洲，亦如镜之所照。故南洲人，宜于此月食素持斋修善也。（梵语赡部，即阎浮提，华言胜金洲。梵语毗沙门，华言多闻。四洲者，东弗于逮，南阎浮提，西瞿耶尼，北郁单越也。）
