浙江镇海人。1941年毕业于上海圣约翰大学政治系。历任重庆《国民公报》副刊编辑，重庆《扫荡报》电讯主任兼副刊编辑，博正文化社编辑，香港《皇岛周刊》执行编辑，《西黔》主编，吉隆坡《联邦日报》总编辑，香港《香港时报》、《快报》副刊编辑，《星岛晚报》文艺周刊《大会堂》主编，香港文学杂志社社长，《香港文学》月刊总编辑。香港作家联谊会会长。1936年开始发表作品。
