This paper is designed to compare ideas about Confucianism between John King Fairbank and those Chinese scholars in 1930s from three aspects: the role Confucianism played in traditional Chinese culture;the function Confucianism had in the modernization of contemporary China and the limitations of their ideas about Confucianism.
鉴于二者的特殊关系,以二者对儒学的基本看法为视角从三个方面,即儒学在中国文化中的地位、儒学在近代中国现代化进程中的作用以及二者对儒学认识的局限性进行比较,进一步了解费氏的儒学观。
