The Nature of the Tongbai Complex and Its Tectonic Implications

The Tongbai complex is situated between two Indosinian high-pressure(HP) metamorphic belts in the Tongbai area.

Gold and silver deposits of sediment hosted in the Weishancheng area of Tongbai County in Henan Province were developed under the dynamic background of the collisional orogenesis during Indosinian to Yanshanian period.

The Weishancheng ore belt is located in Tongbai Mountains and consists of three stratabound deposits (Yindongpo large gold deposit, Poshan super-large silver deposit, and Yindongling large silver-dominated poly-metallic deposit) and some small ore spots.

The recent detailed researches in tectonics and petrology show that a great amount of eclogites or retrograded eclogites in different sizes, widely distributed in the Tongbai mountains, constitutes a high-pressure metamorphic belt, around 200 km long and 40 km wide.

The Weishancheng ore belt is located in Tongbai Mountains and consists of the Yindongpo large gold deposit, the Poshan and Yindongling large silver deposits and some small ore deposits or occurrences.
