| 海湾地区油气资源 Gulf Area oil and gas resources 世界最重要的石油 、天然气资源。这里的海湾专指波斯湾，位于亚洲西南部，经霍尔木兹海峡和阿曼湾通向印度洋，全长1040千米，是一条具有重要战略意义的国际通道。海湾沿岸集中了8个重要的产油国：伊朗、伊拉克、科威特、沙特阿拉伯、巴林、卡塔尔、合酋长国、阿曼。其中沙特阿拉伯、科威特、伊朗、伊拉克、卡塔尔和阿拉伯联合酋长国是欧佩克主要成员国。该区是一个完整的含油气盆地，有国际级大油气田101个，以及世界第一大油田盖瓦尔和第二大油田布尔干 。1990年 ，海湾地区石油剩余可采储量达890.542亿吨，占世界的65.2％ ；原油产量7.843亿吨，占世界的26.0％。海湾沿岸是世界最大产油中心和石油出口地区。
