adrenal cortex
肾上腺实质浅层的组织结构，呈淡黄色，由肾的附近的中胚层演化而来，也是腺垂体激素的靶腺。其重量占肾上腺总重量的80%～90%，胎儿期相对较大，成人的每侧重5～6g。在显微镜下分三层：①外层称球状带，最薄，分泌盐皮质激素，以醛固酮为主；②中层称束状层，最厚，占皮质主要部分，分泌糖皮质激素，以皮质醇为主；③内层称网状层，与髓质组织相接壤，分泌雄性激素。但近来有人认为除醛固酮比较肯定由球状层分泌外，其余激素的合成，乃另二层的共同产物。
