X?ray

  由高速运行的自由电子群,撞击在阳极靶被突然阻止而产生的一种极短电磁波。它由著名物理学家威·康·伦琴(W·C·Roentgen)于1895年发现,又称伦琴射线。当时对这种射线的性质不十分明了,故以数学上的未知数“X”来命名。X线具有以下作用:①穿透性;②荧光作用,这是用于荧光透视的基础;③摄影作用,亦称感光作用,这是X线摄影的基础;④电离作用和生物效应,这是实行放射防护和放射治疗的基本原理。
