The analytical results indicate that the adoption of Realizable k-ε turbulence model is able to better simulate the hydraulic characteristic with high turbulence,strong shear,strong rotary and the horizontal rotary cavity flow in internal dissipating tunnel with an inlet shaft.

In this paper,mathematical expressions of some swirl characteristics of typical level hollow swirling flow in inner dissipation discharge tunnel with inlet shaft have been put forward under velocity distribution supposition.

It has been shown that the wall shearing stress is not only influenced by the discharge of the tunnel Q,the rotary flow angle α_w,the moment of tangent velocity C,the difference between the wall pressure and the gassy pressure in level hole rotary flow P_w-P_0,and the hole radius of the level hole rotary flow r_0,but also by the change rate of P_w-P_0 and r_0 along the level.
