儿童智力的发展(development of ehild’sintelligenee)儿童智力随年龄增加而不断增长的过程。据D.韦克斯勒和L .L.塞斯顿等人研究认为:(1)儿童智力发展从3一4岁至12一13岁是等速趋势，13岁后呈负加速趋势。(2)智力发展速度和停止年龄与智商高低有密切的关系，智商低的儿童智力发展慢，停止年龄较早:反之，智商高的儿童智力发展速度快，而且停止的年龄较晚。(3)智力发展大约在25岁达到顶峰。还有人研究认为，若以18岁时智力为100%，约有50%是在4岁前完成的，30%是在4一8岁时完成的，余下的20%是在8一18岁完成的。影响儿童智力发展的因素有遗传和环境两方面，遗传素质是儿童智力发展的物质前提，是儿童智力发展的可能性因素;而使这种可能性得以实现的是后天环境，其中早期环境对儿童智力发展的作用很大，应该重视儿童早期教育。 (白学军撰林索德审)
