Based on the high resolution output data, the diagnostic analysis is conducted to disclose the structure of meso β scale vortex system in three different periods.

By using the high resolution model output data, further study on the cause of meso-β scale vortex system shows that the development of mesoscale vortex system is connected with the mesoscale transportation and accumulation of various thermodynamic and dynamic variables and abrupt vertical motion in regional area in the moist neutral stratification condition.

The analysis of the data has shown in this paper that the rain gush was closely related with the activity of the mesoscale vortex system in the boundary layer.

Response of the subtropical and subpolar gyres to the wind stress anomalies in the North Pacific was investigated with a high resolution oceanic general circulation model forced with COADS surface data.

In view of the problem related to the balance between wind and pressure in the variational data assimilation of intensity-vortex system(such as tropical cyclones and some mesoscale systems),a new relation of balance between wind and pressure,the curvature-modification linear balance equation,is suggested.
