【来源】
为龙胆科植物紫红獐牙菜的全草。
【植物形态】
紫红獐牙菜 一年生直立草本。高30～40厘米。茎有棱，多分枝。单叶对生，叶片披针形。花顶生或腋生，紫红色。蒴果椭圆形。 生山坡草地。分布四川、云南等地。 本品在四川作鱼胆草使用，参见"鱼胆草"条。
【采集】
秋季采收，洗净，晒干。
【性味】
《云南中草药选》："苦，寒。"
【功用主治】
①《峨嵋药植》："治耳聋症"。 ②《云南中草药选》："清肝利胆，除湿清热。治急性黄疸型肝炎，胆囊炎。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，0.5～1两。
