塔里木河

    中国第一大内陆河。位于新疆维吾尔自治区塔里木盆地北部。上游有三源:阿克苏河源出天山山脉,叶尔羌河及和田河源出喀喇昆仑山脉,在阿瓦提县肖夹克附近汇合后称塔里木河。在尉犁县以南折向东南,穿过塔克拉玛干沙漠的东北部,注入铁干里克的大西海子水库。若从叶尔羌河上源算起,至大西海子长2000千米,若从阿克苏与叶尔羌河相汇处算起,到大西海子长800千米,流域面积19.8万平方千米。塔里木河在历史上曾多次改道。1921年主流下游北移,东流沿孔雀河注入罗布泊。1952年中段的汊流拉因河口筑起塔里木大坝,阻断河水流入孔雀河,河道主流改沿铁干里克故道,折向东南流入台特马湖。现在,塔里木河仅到铁干里克流入大西海子水库,台特马湖处干涸状态。河水主要来自阿克苏河(占72.0%)  、和田河(占22.5%)  、叶尔羌河(占5.5%) 。上段的阿拉尔站,每年有49亿立方米水量下泄,沿途蒸发与渗漏严重,致使大西海子以下至台特马湖的河段断流,引起大片胡杨树枯死,沟通塔里木盆地南北的绿色走廊面临毁灭的危险。
