社会技术系统(soeioteehniea一system)一种关于组织的系统观点。它是由英国塔维斯特克人际关系研究所的特里斯特(Trist，E.L.)通过对英国达勒姆煤矿采煤现场的作业组织进行研究后提出的。该理论认为，组织是由社会系统和技术系统相互作用而形成的社会技术系统，即由包括正式组织、非正式组织、技术系统、成员的素质等多种因素形成的复合系统。它强调组织中的社会系统不能独立于技术系统而存在，技术系统的变化也会引起社会系统发生变化。持这种观点的人认为，组织不仅是由厂房、人力、资金、机器和生产程序综合起来的物质组织，也是调整人的行为的“人的组织”或由人的行为构成的人群关系系统。这就是说，人群关系并不是组织可随意取舍的特性，而是企业所固有并因其激励人的行为而存在的。可见这种组织观点更重视人际关系系统。这种组织理论，对构成一个组织的许多复杂的因果关系了解得更为丰富和更为深入，它不但解释组织中的“正式组织的活动”，一也能说明“非正式组织的活动”，被称为现代的组织理论，同强调物质组织的传统组织理论相对应。 (孙俊山撰张燮审)
