形态特征 大戟科大戟属多年生草本植物，具白色乳汁，高30-50厘米。根状茎粗壮，圆柱状。叶互生，无柄;叶片椭圆形、长椭圆形、卵状长圆形或倒卵状长圆形，长5-10厘米，宽1.5-3.5厘米，中脉宽扁;花序基部的叶卵形、菱状卵形，常3-4枚轮生，长2-6厘米，宽2-4厘米。5-6月开花，总苞半球状，裂片半圆形，边缘有白色棉状毛;腺体5枚，肾形。蒴果卵球形，长可达12厘米，有皱纹。种子球状长圆形，长6毫米。
生境分布:生于海拔2700-4600米的山坡林下及山坡草地。分布于西藏。印度、尼泊尔也有。
用途:根有毒，经制后药用，治重症水肿、胸水、腹水、积聚痞块等症。
