The work hardening ability of ZGMn18Cr2Mo superhigh manganese steel has been investigated, the microstructure of the dense dislocations, some stacking faults, great amount of deformation twins, some intersecting twins and ultrafine carbides in a nano-scale has been observed under the condition of small scale uniaxial compressive deformation.

The experiment shows that the rapid pinning of a large amount of dislocations and the existance of fine deformation twins and some crossed tiwns are the major factors contributing to work hardening of superhigh manganese steel when deformed under relatively strong impact.

The influences of cryogenic treatments on the microstructure,material performances and the impact wear resistance of the superhigh manganese steel are studied.

Effects of RE multiple modification on the structure of super-high manganese steel;

The heat treatment process of super-high manganese steel with RE-Si-Fe modification which contains alloying elements Cr and Mo is optimized and the structure and mechanical properties of the steel by different tempering temperature treatment process are also studied.
