The urban planning before Xi-Han Dynasdy has three period:concentric city with palace and temple of ancestor worship in center in Shang dynasty and western Zhou dyasty, bipartite structure in Chunqiu and Zhanguo period, capital-building like haven in Qin and western Han dynasty,which all had no the design of city\'s symmetric axes.
西汉以前都城设计发展大致经历三个阶段:商西周都城宫室宗庙居中的方城设计原则、春秋战国城郭套叠和东西双城并列布局、秦西汉象天设都布局,三阶段逐步完善且没有明显南北中轴线。
