【财富最大化】管理经济学一般采用微观经济学企业论中导出的利润最大化模式，但把模式扩展到包括不确定性和货币的时间价值。这就导致所谓企业的主要目标是财富(或价值)最大化。这一模式假定企业的目标是在一定的社会约束条件下使企业在市场上衡量出来的价值，即企业预期的未来现金流量(即未来利润按适当的利率折算)的现值最大化。现值最大化与长期利润最大化思想是一致的，这一模式的指导思想，在寡头垄断的市场经济情况下，似乎比较可取，问题在于模式要求企业能准确地预测未来实现的利润流量的大小和时间，这很难做到。
