补充资料：武术短兵
中国武术项目之一，是在武术刀、剑等击法基础上发展起来的一项对抗性武术竞赛。短兵原是以单手使用为主的短兵器的总称，主要有刀、剑、鞭、锏等。现代比赛用的武术短兵器械是用藤条或铁筋裹以棉絮或海绵，再外包薄皮制成，比赛是在直径 8米的圆形场地内进行。比赛时双方各执一短兵器械， 用刺、劈、 砍、蹦、点、截、抹、拦、架等方法，按照一定规则互相攻防，以击中对方身体（裆部除外）、击落对方器械或击倒对方判为得分，以得分多者为胜。短兵比赛共分3局，每局3分钟，两局之间休息 1分钟。短兵易学，易练，设备简单，是青少年喜爱的项目之一。
1928年举办的中国首届国术国考，开始有短兵项目比赛，以后在40年代的几次武术比赛中也大都有此项目。中华人民共和国成立后，短兵已被列为全国武术竞赛项目之一。
