性质:由各种酶(如DNA聚合酶、连接酶等)协同作用,修复DNA突变损伤,以保持DNA分子中信息完整的分子生物学过程。对生物个体和物种的生存极为重要。所有细胞都有DNA损伤的修复能力,因而在遗传学上有意义的突变频率要比突变初发的频率低得多。有证据表明,DNA复制和环境危害诱导的DNA损伤,在哺乳动物生殖细胞中每年约有6个核苷酸突变,在体细胞中至少有同样数目的核苷酸突变。细胞内修复过程可以看作为不定期的DNA合成,即细胞周期S期以外的时间内进行的DNA片段的合成过程。
