【动物形态】
驴(《说文》)，又名：漠骊(《纂文》)，毛驴。 体形如马而较小，成横的长方形。头大，眼圆，耳长。面部平直，头颈高扬，颈部较宽厚，鬃毛稀少。四肢粗短，蹄质坚硬。尾基部粗而末梢细。体毛厚而短，有黑色、栗色、灰色3种。颈背部有一条短的深色横纹，嘴部有明显的白色嘴圈。耳廓背面同身色，内面色较浅，尖端几呈黑色。腹部及四肢内侧均为白色。 本动物的头(驴头)、骨(驴骨)、毛(驴毛)、蹄(驴蹄)、雄性的外生殖器(驴阴茎)、脂肪(驴脂)、乳汁(驴乳)以及驴皮煎熬制成的胶块(阿胶)亦供药用，各详专条。
【性味】
甘酸，平。
【功用主治】
补血，益气。治劳损，风眩，心烦。 ①《千金·食治》："主风狂，愁忧不乐，能安心气。" ②《日华子本草》："解心烦，止风狂，酿酒治一切风。" ③《饮膳正要》："野驴，食之能治风眩。" ④《纲目》："补血益气，治远年劳损；煮汁空心坎，疗痔引虫。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煮食。
【选方】
治风狂，忧愁不乐，安心气：乌驴肉不以多少，切，于豆豉中烂煮熟，入五味，空心食之。(《饮膳正要》驴肉汤)
