Through the direct shear experiments under the conditions of different initial moisture contents,different dry densities and different vertical pressures,this paper researches the regularities of the change of the strength index of remolded silt affected by these external factors.

As undisturbed soil and remolded soil possess different structural features, they demonstrate different mechanical properties.

With the comparative analysis of triaxial tests of undisturbed and remolded soil samples, the influences of structure on the stress-strain shear moduli of soil samples at the initial, medium and later stages of the test have been discussed, and from the microscopic angle, its causes are analyzed qualitatively.
