补充资料：佛光寺唐代塑像
中国山西省五台县佛光寺的唐代佛教塑像。此寺创建于北魏孝文帝时，隋唐时寺况极盛。曾建有高约32米的弥勒阁，为宋武灭法时所毁。现存东大殿为唐宣宗大中十一年 (857)修建，殿内35身彩塑同时塑造，分布于高74厘米、宽五间的佛坛上。主像为释迦、弥勒、阿弥陀佛，其旁为观音、普贤菩萨及胁侍、供养菩萨等。观音、普贤分骑狮象，分别由蛮奴和拂菻牵引，像侧还有一童子。三主像均面颊丰满，眉毛弯弧，口鼻端正，唐风显著。弥勒与释迦螺发，阿弥陀佛则为直发。释迦、阿弥陀佛台座前的垂纹，弥勒、阿弥陀佛胸腹部的衣纹带结，都是常见的唐代形式。侍胁菩萨腰部欹曲，微向前倾，腹部稍凸，供养菩萨均在高蒂莲花台座上，一蹲一跪。佛坛左稍为骑狮观音、右稍为骑象普贤，不同于习见的文殊、普贤组合。这是因五台山为文殊菩萨道场，文殊遂不出现于佛侧所致。观音冠有化佛， 服饰奇特，胸前作如意头，两乳为螺旋纹，云头复肩，两袖翻卷如火焰形。菩萨神情安详、舒眉展眼、领戴缨珞、腕约宝环。胁侍与供养菩萨均垂双辫，形象逼真动人。佛坛两端的天王像，瞋目怒视，执剑披甲，威武而无狞恶之状。佛坛左端还有建殿施主宁公遇像，而住持高僧愿诚之像则位于对称的右端，均是珍贵的唐代真人塑像。
