【公众资任保险】亦称“综合责任保险”。以公众责任为保险标的的保险。中国公众责任保险多用于保障被保险人在保险期限内因从事保单规定的业务，造成他人人身伤害或者财产损失依法应承担的赔偿责任，以及有关的费用。在国外，公众责任保险为企业和个人提供非常广泛的人身伤害和财产损失的责任风险保障。除机动车、飞机及雇主的责任以外的几乎所有的责任保险，都可以归人公众责任保险范畴。公众责任险承保多样的风险，比如混合综合责任保险、总括保险单等就在一张保单中承保多种责任保险或家庭财产保险的责任。为适应客户的需要，国际上通常在一张总保单下规定保单基本条款和共同条件，另外规定若干特别保险条款，分别定明赔偿限额和应收保费，供被保险人选择投保。
