陇东镇位于四川宝兴县西部，距县城18公里，距成都230公里。东邻五龙乡，南连明礼乡，北交永富乡，西和康定县接壤。全镇幅员面积５２９平方公里，海拔1100-3800米，地势西高、窄，南低、阔。全年平均气温12.6℃，最高气温32℃，最低气温-5℃，总积温5500℃-6000℃，年降雨量1000毫米。森林覆盖率达76%。
陇东原系穆坪土司辖地，民国十七年始建乡制，一九五0年属宝兴县第二区，一九八五年合并当时的复兴乡，一九九二年撤乡建镇。全镇辖九个行政村，55个村民小组。2003年总人口5364人，其中：男2797人，女2567人，农村人口5255人，城镇人口109人，少数民族57人，劳动力3680人。
