BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- DPRK state media reports that the country will build a hi-tech industrial park in the Kaesong border city with a consortium of foreign firms from Singapore and other nations. Kaesong is also the site of a joint industrial park with South Korea.
The Korean Central News Agency says the firms include Jurong Consultants and OKP Holdings of Singapore, P and T Architects and Engineers of Hong Kong and other well-known companies in East Asia and the Middle East.
KCNA says agreement has been reached on collaboration in building the Industrial Park and a Toll Highway from the Capital Airport to Pyongyang. The projects are expected to begin soon.
In May, the DPRK introduced a law that calls for building special economic zones across the country. Foreign businesses get preferential treatment.
