性质:无色针状晶体(由乙醚或丙酮重结晶)。熔点127℃。旋光度[α]546120+185°,[α]579020+168.5°(在水中)。易溶于水、乙醇,难溶于乙醚、丙酮、氯仿、苯,不溶于石油醚。水溶液中加稀氢氧化钠液呈黄色。久置之变棕。可使菲林氏液(Fehling’s liquid)及氨化硝酸银液还原。存在于土曲霉(Aspergillus terreus Thom.)培养液中。将菌种在恰佩克-道克斯培养基(Czapek-Docks medium)中24℃,2星期培养后,滤除菌体,以盐酸使母液呈酸性,将此时产生的沉淀过滤,浓缩;将乙醚萃取物以重结晶法精制即得。用于阻止革兰氏阳性菌、阴性菌及霉菌的发育。
