      在结晶凝固过程中没有石墨析出,断口呈银白色的铸铁。它含有较多的游离渗碳体,所以具有很高的硬度(一般在HB 500以上),但性脆。多用于抗磨损的零件,例如农具、磨球、磨煤机零件、抛丸叶片、泥浆泵零件、铸砂管以及冷硬轧辊的外表层等。以含碳量2.6~3.8%、含硅量0.6~0.9%、含锰量0.2~0.8%的铁水,加快铸件凝固过程,或加入强烈形成碳化物的金属元素的方法,可得白口铸铁件。中国早在春秋晚期已经使用白口铸铁(见冶金史)。
